I'm Gary Smith, and Smith EcoFlow is my family business — run by me and my son Connor, right here where we live.
I started Smith EcoFlow because I wanted to do this job properly — the way I'd want it done in my own home. No middlemen, no big call centre, no sending some stranger round in a van with a logo on it. When you call, you get me. When I turn up, it's me doing the work.
I live in Orpington with my family, so the places I work — Bromley, the local Kent towns, across South East London — are my own patch. If I do a good job for you, there's a fair chance I'll bump into you at the shops. That keeps me honest, and it's exactly how I like it.
These days I do three main things: I fit air conditioning for homes and businesses, I service and repair heat pumps, and I take on all sorts of plumbing. Whatever the job, you'll get a straight answer, a fair price, and work I'm happy to put my name to.

Connor's sixteen, and he's my apprentice. He's learning the trade the way I did — properly, on the tools, one job at a time. He's keen, he's polite, and he's picking it up fast.
Bringing him into the business means a lot to me. It's the reason I called it a family firm and meant it — this is something we're building together, and something I hope he'll carry on one day. My youngest is only ten, so who knows, maybe there'll be three of us on the vans before long.
It also means when there's a bigger job on, there are two of us to get it done properly — but you're still dealing with the same family, not a rotating cast of strangers. I think that's worth something, and from the customers who call us back, so do they.
